Our firewood is cut, split and stacked or loosely tossed in crates. We do our best to separate out less than quality pieces. This leftover product is what we sell as pit/boiler wood. By having the less than quality peices sorted out you can be sure the good wood is ALL good.
A true cord when stacked measures 4ft. tall X 8 ft. long X 4 ft. deep.
Many believe 2 stacked rows equals 4 feet deep. This is only true if the firewood is cut to 24 inches in length.
Quality firewood sold at Hot Stuff LLC is split approximately 15-17 inches in length. Which means you need 3 stacked rows to equal 4 ft. deep.
A rick or face cord is a term used to describe a single 4ft x 8ft stack of wood. If the wood is 16in. in length, then a rick/face cord is equivalent to 1/3 of a cord.
Have you ever purchased a propane tank at your local gas station or hardware store? Well, that's exactly how our crate system works.
Have a clean/undamaged crate sitting around? Feel free to bring that out during your visit and we will exchange it for a full one for just the cost of the wood.
We do not take deposits or buy back crates. We do not loan out crates. If the crate system is not ideal for you, we are happy to sell you just the wood out of them.
